Canada’s young people are faced with enormous challenges. The question we are all wondering is – what will Canada look like when we emerge from this recession?

Liberal Youth believe Canada must turn this downturn into an opportunity. We have, in many ways, exhausted our natural resource potential. However, we have left untapped our nation’s vast human potential. Young Canadians are the people of Passchendaele, and of Juno Beach. We have faced down great global challenges before, and we will do so again.

It will not be easy, and it will take time. Tough decisions lie ahead, and we must approach these decisions with a cool head, and a confident heart. Canada must remain a nation that is strong, proud and free. The cost of losing ourselves in this crisis could do more damage than the economic crunch itself.

Liberal Youth understand that we need bold, brave ideas to set us right. Young people are the innovators, the creative minds, and the future leadership that will provide these ideas. Young people need leaders with equal creativity and innovation.

Canada is at a crossroads in its history. We have the ability to head down a path leading to prosperity, or backpack to the past. The choice young people face is enormous, and they have the ability to shape their very nation. Liberal Youth are ready, able, and determined to provide the right solutions to take Canada back to the top.
